Wrinkles are result of years of muscle contraction which squeezes the skin causing wrinkles.
Botulinum toxin (commonly called Botox) is a protein which temporarily blocks the nerve signals to the muscle so stopping the muscle from contracting and reducing the wrinkles.
Frown lines or 'surprise lines' are the transverse, long lines that run across the forehead. They appear when raising the eyebrows in surprise or during times of stress.
Horizontal brow lines deepen with age and eventually become apparent even when the face is relaxed. The muscle involved here is only one, the frontalis muscle and it is the sole elevator of the eyebrow. Using Botulinum Toxin one can relax the muscle sufficiently to reduce and usually eliminate these age defining wrinkles.
Crow’s feet are caused by making repeated eye movements over time and loss of elasticity. Also known as laughter lines. Crow's feet are fine lines or wrinkles that appear at the corners of the eyes.
They usually appear either while smiling or laughing, and inevitably, after time when the face is relaxed. They are treated with very small injections to the muscles surrounding the eye, the Orbicularis Oculi muscle.
They also serve to tighten the skin of the eyelid and give a slight lift to the eyebrow.
Glabellar lines, (commonly also known as frown lines) are vertical lines that appear between the eyebrows. They are also often called number '11' lines. These wrinkles appear over time as a result of the effects of age, sun expo-sure, habitual frowning, and tension.
A lateral brow lift is a procedure that can be very effective for people with mild to moderate brow heaviness. This is normally due to naturally dropping eyelids or low-hanging eyebrows. As a result, people often state they look tired or washed out.
The brow lift literally raises the skin tissues surrounding the eyes and eyebrows, so that the natural eyebrow arch is a few millimetres higher. It tends to leave the eyes looking wider and more youthful.
A lateral brow lift with Botulinum toxin (also known as a 'chemical lift') offers a non-invasive alternative to surgery and is an increasingly popular anti-ageing procedure for men and women. It is also called “Hollywood brow lift”.
Bunny lines are horizontal wrinkles that form across the ridge of the nose. 'Bunny' is a reference to the distinctively wrinkled and twitchy noses of rabbits; Botox can lessen so-called “bunny lines” (lines along the top of the nose caused when some people smile.)
More seriously, it can help people who have suffered facial trauma or Bell's palsy. In these cases, the face can take on a “lop-sided” look, and botulinum toxin can help to correct this distressing condition.
Gummy smile is one were, upon smiling, a larger than normal proportion of the gums show. This usually begins to bother people when more than 2mm of gum above the upper teeth is on display.
People often find themselves covering their mouth when they laugh or smile. It can cause embarrassment.
Gummy smiles can be treated effectively with the administration of Botox injections.
Marionette lines (also sometimes known as 'disappointment lines') are the lines that extend from the outer corners of each side of the mouth all the way down towards the chin.
Some people naturally have deeper marionette lines than others. Marionette lines form because of loss of the collagen that supports the skin, causing down turned mouth.
Smokers' lines are commonly known as the 'barcode' – “Pucker lines” a series of thin vertical lines that run perpendicular to the vermilion border (the normally sharp demarcation between the lip and your adjacent normal skin).
These lines occur naturally as we age, and the lips start to lose their volume. They are often first noticed as lipstick 'bleeds' into these lines. Smokers' lines can be successfully treated by BOTOX injections or filling these lines with a dermal filler and/or by enhancing the vermilion border. Often a combination of these techniques is employed.
Dimply chin (also known as 'Poppy chin'). It develops when the mentalis muscle, which inserts with several fibres in the dermis of this area, is contracted.
This can lead to the appearance of wrinkles or a 'pin cushioning' effect on the chin. Some people are born with it, others acquire it with age.
The Botox treatment softens the appearance of the chin and creates a more youthful look.
The 'broad face' look is due to the over development of the masseter muscles of the face. It may be congenital or acquired. Acquired causes are usually due to grinding of the teeth, often subconsciously at night. This is undesirable for women and aesthetically unpleasing, because a square face gives a more masculine image. Some men have too prominent jawline, and they can benefit from this too.
Muscular pain in the jaw can be very disabling/ due to teeth grinding and other causes. Botox can then be administered to reduce the muscular spasm causing the pain. This will also reduce the tooth grinding that can damage the teeth.
Neck lines and bands are sometimes also known as 'Nefertiti neck' or 'Turkey neck'. Often some people give their age away, not by the skin on the face, but by the skin on the hands and neck. With neck lines, platysma bands occur as we grow older and contract the muscles.
Botox effectively softens these lines and can help reduce some of the pull on the lower face by creating a slight lift.
Excessive axillary sweating is a very common condition, it often interferes with the individual's life by causing physiological problems, such as cold and clammy hands, dehydration, and skin infections secondary to maceration of the skin, as well as emotional consequences due to embarrassment, limiting daily activities, interfering with interpersonal relationships, necessitating frequent changes of clothes, etc.
Excessive sweating treatments by Botulinum Toxin can offer a life-changing solution for patients. By injecting low doses of Botox into the underarm, for example, it can reduce the transition of impulses and thus sweating.
Dermal fillers consist of Hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a powerful moisturizing agent that appears naturally in the dermis maintaining hydration and skin tone.
With age the skin dries out and becomes fragile and wrinkles start to appear. The tissues progressively sag, and the face becomes hollow.
Injected into the dermis, a dermal filler will effectively alleviate this hyaluronic acid deficiency. In this way HA fillers can be used to fill out facial lines and wrinkles and plump up lips and cheeks and helps with periorbital rejuvenation.
They have an established and excellent safety record, and a wide range of products are available to suit individual requirements. No pre-test is required as the hypo-allergenic gel is so similar to our body’s own natural HA. The effect is not permanent as the filler biodegrades slowly over time.
Fillers for the nasolabial folds are a great way to treat lines around the nose and the mouth. Our use of advanced dermal fillers offers instant correction for deep lines at an affordable price. These deep lines can be a dead giveaway of your age, but now they can be eradicated in an instant.
The procedure uses dermal fillers to fill in the crease and plump the skin to give it a youthful glow. An affordable treatment that doesn't take long to administer, doesn't require surgery and the effects are immediately visible.
Marionette lines take their name from marionette puppets, as the lines run from the corners of the mouth down to the chin and resemble the mouth of a puppet. These lines are caused when the skin loses elasticity due to ageing and the damaging effects of sun exposure.
Weight loss can also cause marionette lines when fat is lost on the face and causes crease lines from the mouth to the nose. Dermal fillers are an effective treatment for marionette lines; they can thicken the skin and reduce the marionette fold lines.
Fillers not only help to improve the appearance of these deep wrinkles, but they restore and moisturize skin in this area. They work by providing extra fullness to the area where wrinkles are apparent.
Lip fillers or lip augmentation refers to modifying the cosmetic appearance of the lips to give them an aesthetically pleasing shape. Your lips are one of the most important features of your face and say so much about you.
Scientists have known for decades that lips which are naturally full of a defined shape are considered sensual and attractive. As time goes by, lips naturally lose their volume, appearing thinner and less defined.
Wrinkles and fine lines can alter the smooth look of your lips further and compromise the shape of the vermillion borders and cupids bow. The corners of the mouth may even turn down, giving a tired and aged appearance.
If you have always wished for fuller and softer lips, then Lip Enhancement treatment with an advanced dermal filler may be for you.
As we get older, one of the most noticeable facial changes is the loss of volume in the cheek area as the malar fat pads move down under the force of gravity. This is most obvious in patients that are slender or have a normal age-appropriate weight.
The cheek bones become less pronounced, and the skin becomes baggier. In some patients, this can create a 'gaunt' or aged look. Injectable fillers offer a quick and effective method of a subtle cheek enhancement. This additional volume into the cheeks make the face appear more youthful and 'uplifted'.
The effect is not designed to be dramatic, nor should it be, but a subtle improvement that looks natural. This is a quick solution with immediate effects without swelling and potential down time and bruising from surgery.
While the effect of injectable cheek augmentation is only temporary, how long it lasts will be influenced by what type of injectable filler is used. We use an advanced dermal filler as we find it allows the smoothest and most natural look.
We can restore volume loss and sculpture the face and cheeks as well as hydrating the skin. As you age the hollow between the eye area and the upper cheek can deepen, creating a tired look.
The tear trough can be softened with dermal fillers. It is a subtle treatment but one that makes all the difference. The treatment will help diminish those troublesome bags or hollows that can appear under the eyes over time.
Rhinoplasty is the reshaping of the nose for cosmetic or reconstructive purposes. It is one of the most popular and desired cosmetic procedures but, understandably, many patients are concerned about undergoing surgery due to the potential complications and the risk of unfavourable results.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty is sometimes referred to as the '15-minute nose job'. It is a safe, non-invasive alternative to surgery for people who wish to change the shape of their noses. The procedure uses dermal fillers - injected in small amounts in precise locations - to change the shape and contour of your nose.
The 8-point facelift represents a comprehensive, non-invasive rejuvenation programme. It is a technique for creating a lifting effect using the smallest amount of dermal filler material.
The concept of restoring volume and structure in the face to give the skin the support it needs is now very well-established – the days of just filling lines and creases should be long gone.
Better understanding of the compartments of the face and the patterns of volume loss has meant that our ability to rejuvenate and beautify the face has become much more sophisticated.
A PDO thread lift is a revolutionary new treatment in the world of aesthetics, but PDO threads themselves have been used safely for decades for various applications, like treating gynaecological disorders or suturing incisions after medical procedures.
When used as an aesthetic treatment, there are a few things you should know.
First, it mechanically results in instant skin lifting. Second, it contracts fat tissue to result in instant skin tightening. Third, it promotes collagen production and neovascularization to renew your skin at the cellular level. All of this works together to give you enhanced skin texture, fewer fine lines and wrinkles and more elastic skin.
Chemical skin peels can be used to great effect to rejuvenate your skin, particularly on the face and neck. They can transform problems such as dull, lifeless skin; hyperpigmentation; fine lines; scarring and some types of acne.
Also known as chemical peels, skin peels work by exfoliating the skin in order to remove any dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of the healthy young cells underneath. Chemical skin peels can promote collagen regeneration, encouraging it to come to the surface of the skin in order to greatly improve its appearance.
Patients often choose to have a skin peel in addition to treatments using Botox and dermal fillers because they feel that it is not enough to just remove the wrinkles and improve the shape and contour of the face, but that they also wish to improve the condition of the skin itself. We will always strive to give you a naturally fabulous end result that exceeds your expectations and makes you feel confident about your appearance.

This condition is often caused by dead skin cells on the skin’s surface. Many of our treatments restore skin for natural-looking results.
Microdermabrasion serves as a fantastic pre-treatment for other skin rejuvenating and injectable treatments, such as chemical peels and skin needling (derma roller). Both relaxing and effective, microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliating treatment which will give you a fresh rejuvenated youthful glow to your skin.
Crystal clear microdermabrasion allows you to treat lines, wrinkles, dull dehydrated skin, sun damaged skin, skin laxity and acne scarring by using a controlled method of skin exfoliation, which uses crystals to gently lift and remove dull, dead skin cells, layer by layer. It helps skin pigmentation, enlarged pores, acne scars, sun damaged skin, facial wrinkles and stretch marks.
Dermaroller and micro-needling work on the same principle. Both treatments create miniscule holes in the skin that trigger the body’s natural healing response to repair and close the holes. This helps new collagen to form which rejuvenates skin softening fine lines and wrinkles.
Acne scars, sun-damaged skin and stretch marks can also be treated.
The difference between the treatments is that Dermaroller is a single-use manual medical device which is literally ‘rolled’ over the treatment area. Micro-needling is an automated procedure carried out with a precision-engineered device. Its technology ensures that the holes are made vertically within the skin which can boost the treatment’s effectiveness.
At The PAROME’ CLINIC, we understand how scarring such as acne scarring can affect your confidence. Scarring occurs when the body tries to heal itself after experiencing a ‘trauma’ such as acne. It produces large amounts of collagen which knit together in an uneven way resulting in marks and indentations.
Dermaroller and micro-needling help to target these issues with many of our clients seeing considerable improvement after treatment.
And the great news is that both procedures are minimally invasive with very little downtime.
It’s a great feeling to introduce a new skin rejuvenation therapy, the Dermapen.
Faster, less painful, and more effective than the Dermaroller, the new Dermapen prompts the natural release of the skin's collagen and elastin for amazing anti-aging benefits, all without surgery.
As we age, the natural production of the skin's supporting cells, fibroblasts and the skin's collagen and elastin, naturally diminish leading to wrinkles, sagging and hollows. Stimulating the skin to produce more fibroblasts, collagen, and elastin is called collagen induction therapy and is used as an alternative to facelifts and other surgical anti-aging interventions.

Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a 10-gauge scalpel to gently scrape off the top lay-er of dulling dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. Sounds scary, right?
It really isn’t, as long as you’re in the right hands.
“Dermaplaning requires handling a very sharp blade that’s used in surgeries. Dermaplaning safely scrapes off the top layer of skin, so it is well suited for drier skin types and anyone who wants to get rid of peach fuzz. Dermaplaning removes all the dead skin cells and also the facial hair, leaving the surface very smooth,” explains Wright.
Dermaplaning also allows for greater penetration of skincare products and creates a flawless canvas for makeup to glide on smoothly. In fact, cosmetic dermatologists often use dermaplaning to help prepare skin for more intrusive procedures such as laser treatments and chemical peels and used in combination with micro-dermabrasion with good results.
This is a great treatment if you are pregnant or nursing and want exfoliation without the risk of harsh chemicals absorbing into the blood stream and potentially harming your baby.
Leg veins are a cosmetic common concern for many women. They appear as red, blue, or purple lines on the skin and can be unsightly. While varicose veins may require surgical treatment, many other types of veins such as thread veins or spider veins can be treated easily with microsclerotherapy, which is considered the gold standard treatment for these types of veins.
Microsclerotherapy involves the injection of a solution, known as a “sclerosing agent” into the vein using a very fine needle. This causes the vein to break down so it can be absorbed by the body. If you have thread veins or spider veins on your legs that are bothering, you then micorscelrotherapy is a safe and effective solution.
Book a consultation to find out if you are eligible for treatment. The needles used for microsclerotherapy are very fine so while you may feel a slight scratch tor pinching sensation, the treatment is not painful.
The procedure takes about half an hour depending on how many veins are being treated. You are advised to wear compression stockings for three days after treatment, but you can carry on with normal activities straight away. You should refrain from any strenuous aerobic activity for 24 hours, however.
You may get some bruising which can last for a couple of weeks and the veins may appear worse before they get better. Microsclerotherapy is considered to be the most effective treatment for targeting thread veins on the legs. Most veins will completely disappear following treatment.
PRP therapy is a very simple and safe procedure where blood is taken from the patient just like in a regular blood test. Then the blood is put into a centrifugal machine for 8 to 10 minutes and spun.
This facilitates the separation of blood and then the platelet rich plasma is collected and injected into the desired area. In layman’s language, it is blood plasma which is rich in platelets.
This treatment has growth factors that fuel the healing of soft tissue (a tissue that supports and connects other body organs and structures).
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy can be done in an area that requires texture improvement and almost every person can benefit from it.
Popular areas corrected with PRP therapy include:
Many types of fillers are made of solid materials that seal lines, skin creases and wrinkles including those around the mouth and lips area. This type of treatment lasts from six to eighteen months and therefore recurrent treatments are needed to fill the desired area again.
Platelet Rich Plasma therapy on the other hand, stimulates one’s own collagen to grow for full rejuvenation; it is used to add volumes to faces that are beginning to sag, soften under eye area, boost the skin tone, tightness, and texture, and finally fill in areas where fillers cannot spread and are risky to use.
By using high molecular weight non-cross linked hyaluronic acid combined with succinic acid, Hyalual created a unique product that has many positive physiological benefits for tissue and skin health.
This half day hands-on course focuses on the benefits of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid over low molecular weight and the positive effect it has on skin quality when combined with succinic acid.
We will look at treating areas that are usually very difficult to treat such as under the eye where the skin is thin, dehydrated and of poor structure, full face, neck, and décolletage for skin rejuvenation and lifting and discuss other areas where Rederm is be used effectively.
Rederm hydrates, stimulates collagen and elastin, aids the conversion of glucose to ATP and significantly improves pigmentation.
INTRAVITA intravenous injections
The human body needs at least 30 vitamins, minerals, and amino acids a day to keep it healthy. It is believed that all of these nutrients should come from our diet or from supplement tablets however less than half of the required vitamins can be obtained this way.
Developed in the 1960’s, the use of IV is an effective method which delivers essential vitamins and minerals straight into the blood stream.
IV Nutrition Therapy (IVNT) uses a variety of vitamin “cocktails” to give the body the nutrients it needs. The demand for this treatment is increasingly growing with celebrity influencers leading the way.
IVNT vitamin cocktails have been designed to help your patients with key areas such as the following:
