The formation of creases, lines and wrinkles is part of the natural ageing process. Some of these lines develop because we make the same facial expressions every day, time and time again. These expression (or dynamic) wrinkles, which are the result of normal facial movement, can be smoothed with the expert use of anti-wrinkle injections for a more youthful look. When it is injected into a specific muscle in the face it blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscle. This means that the nerve ending cannot tell the muscle to move, hence there will be less wrinkling of the skin in the areas treated.

Botulinum toxin is a naturally occurring protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. There are currently two different types of botulinum toxin commercially available in the United Kingdom:

Type A toxin: Botox (Vistabel), Dysport (Azzalure) and Xeomin (Bocouture) and
Type B toxin: Neurobloc.

1 ) CROW’S FEET

Crow’s Feet is also known as’Laughter Lines’, Crow’s Feet are fine lines or wrinkles that appear at the corners of the eyes. They usually appear either while smiling or laughing, and inevitably, after time when the face is relaxed. They look a little like the splayed toes of a bird, hence the name. The primary cause for Crow’s Feet is sun exposure, which ages the skin and encourages squinting. Smoking is also a risk factor. However, Crow’s Feet are also simply a part of the ageing process of the face. They will start small and expand over time.
They are treated with very small injections to the muscles surrounding the eye, the Obicularis Oculi muscle. They also serve to tighten the skin of the eyelid and give a slight lift to the eyebrow. This is a rejuvenating procedure done at The PAROME’ Clinic, that will brighten your face and show off the natural beauty of your eyes.

2 ) FOREHEAD FROWN LINES

Horizontal brow lines (also known as ‘Horizontal Forehead Lines’ or “Frown line” or ‘Surprise Lines’) are the transverse, long lines that run across the forehead. These may result from normal animation or expression. Also they appear when raising the eye brows in surprise or during times of stress.
Horizontal brow lines deepen with age and eventually become apparent even when the face is relaxed. The muscle involved here is only one, the Frontalis muscle and it is the sole elevator of the eyebrow. Using BOTOX® one can relax the muscle sufficiently to reduce and usually eliminate these age defining wrinkles.

3) GLABELLAR WRINKLES

Glabellar lines, (commonly also known as frown lines) are vertical lines that appear between the eyebrows. They are also often called number ’11’ lines. These wrinkles appear over time as a result of the effects of age, sun exposure, habitual frowning, and tension. One may often feel that in addition to ‘the aging effect’, these lines make one appear tired or grumpy. Because of this, glabellar line treatments can make a positive difference to one’s self-perception, emotional wellbeing, and how others perceive you on first impression.

4) CHEMICAL BROW LIFT

A lateral brow lift is a procedure that can be very effective for people with mild to moderate brow heaviness. This is normally due to naturally-dropping eyelids or low-hanging eyebrows. As a result, people often state they look tired or washed out. The brow lift literally raises the skin tissues surrounding the eyes and eyebrows, so that the natural eyebrow arch is a few millimetres higher. It tends to leave the eyes looking wider and more youthful. A lateral brow lift with BOTOX® (also known as a ‘chemical lift’) offers a non-invasive alternative to surgery and is an increasingly popular anti-ageing procedure for men and women. It is also called “Hollywood Brow lift”

5) BUNNY LINES BOTOX TREATMENT

Bunny lines are horizontal wrinkles that form across the ridge of the nose. People commonly have more than one bunny line, and they are caused by everyday facial expressions and as the years pass, they become more noticeable.’Bunny’ is a reference to the distinctively wrinkled and twitchy noses of rabbits. As we get older, bunny lines tend to form naturally, as an effect of years of smiling, frowning, and forming other expressions with the face. It’s endearing when a rabbit twitches its nose, but not so with the unflattering deep wrinkles that are formed when we do it.We use a cosmetic injectible that is proven to be effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and forehead. It relaxes the muscles in the face, decreasing the amount of facial creases that form giving patients a smooth nasal bridge and a more youthful look. Botox can lessen so-called “bunny lines” (lines along the top of the nose caused when some people smile.) More seriously, it can help people who have suffered facial trauma or Bell’s palsy. In these cases, the face can take on a “lop-sided” look, and botulinum toxin can help to correct this distressing condition.

6) DOWN-TURNED MOUTH CORNERS BOTOX TREATMENT

Marionette lines (also sometimes known as ‘disappointment lines’) are the lines that extend from the outer corners of each side of the mouth all the way down towards the chin. Some people naturally have deeper marionette lines than others. Marionette lines form because of loss of the collagen that supports the skin and gives it integrity; they can also be exacerbated by smoking and sun exposure. Such an appearance can be disconcerting to the patient as it creates a permanent look of anger and frustration.

7) GUMMY SMILE (GINGIVAL DISPLAY) BOTOX TREATMENT:

A Gummy Smile is one where, upon smiling, a larger than normal proportion of the gums show. This usually begins to bother people when more than 2mm of gum above the upper teeth is on display. People often find themselves covering their mouth when they laugh or smile. It can cause embarassment.
Gummy Smiles can be treated effectively with the administration of BOTOX® injections. The result is entirely natural looking. Not everyone is a candidate for this treatment, so please book a consultation and we will be happy to discuss your suitability.

8) SMOKERS LINES PERIORAL BOTOX TREATMENT

Smokers’ Lines are commonly known as the ‘barcode’ – “Pucker lines”a series of thin vertical lines that run perpendicular to the vermilion border (the normally sharp demarcation between the lip and your adjacent normal skin). These lines occur naturally as we age and the lips start to lose their volume. They are often first noticed as lipstick ‘bleeds’ into these lines. Smokers’ lines can be successfully treated by BOTOX® injections, filling these lines with a dermal filler and/or by enhancing the vermilion border. Often a combination of these techniques is employed

9) CHIN LIFT WITH BOTOX (MENTALIS TREATMENT) FOR PUCKERED CHIN

Dimply Chin (also known as ‘Poppy Chin’) occurs because some of us naturally contract our chin more than others on closing our mouth. It develops when the mentalis muscle, which inserts with several fibers in the dermis of this area, is contracted. This can lead to the appearance of wrinkles or a ‘pincushioning’ effect on the chin. Eventually, the appearance occurs at rest as one age.
Dimply Chin can be treated by the precise injection of BOTOX®. The treatment softens the appearance of the chin and creates a more youthful look.

10) JAW SLIMMING (MASSETER) INJECTION FOR ( BRUXISM, TEETH GRINDING, JAW REDUCTION)

1)The ‘Broad Face’ look, is due to the over the development of the masseter muscles of the face. This can make the face look quadrangular. It may be congenital or acquired. Northeastern Asians, including Koreans, belong ethnically to the Mongolian race, they tend to have a well-developed mandible compared to Westerners. Acquired causes are usually due to grinding of the teeth, often subconsciously at night. In either case, a developed masseter muscle makes the face look wider. This is undesirable for women and aesthetically unpleasing because a square face gives a more masculine image. Some Men have too prominent Jawline, and they can benefit from this too.

2) Muscular pain in the jaw can be very disabling. Fortunately, it can be treated with Botox as part of the cure. When injected correctly it relieves the pain and works with other properly directed dental treatment to break the loop of muscular spasm that causes the pain that causes the muscular spasm. Botox can then be administered to reduce the muscular spasm causing the pain. This will also reduce the tooth grinding that can damage the teeth while other specialist dental intervention deals with the root cause

  • Merits of BOTOX® injections in masseteric hypertrophy
  • Rapid effects take place, usually seen within two weeks of the procedure.
  • The injection procedure is short (usually 10-15 minutes).
  • No inconvenience to daily life after treatment.
  • Very few side effects and little pain after treatment.
  • The cost is inexpensive compared with surgery.

Botox is also used in medical jawline reduction as a method of reducing the prominence of the masseter muscle, the big jaw muscle that allows you to chew food. This slims the angle of the jaw to make the face more oval and reduce the sense of squareness of the face. Dr Farah routinely helps her patients to minimise clenching/ grinding of the teeth and reduce tension headaches and sleepless nights

11 ) NECK LIFT “NEFERTITI LIFT” ( PLATYSMAL BANDS) LOSS OF DEFINITION IN JAWLINE AND NECK

Neck lines and bands are sometimes also known as ‘Nefertiti Neck’ or ‘Turkey Neck’. Often some people give their age away, not by the skin on the face, but by the skin on the hands and neck.
With necklines, platysmal bands occur as we grow older and contract the muscles. They may be both horizontal and/or vertical. As we age, jowls start to appear and the jawline doesn’t remain a smooth line anymore. The skin on our necks can also age and wrinkle due to sun exposure (our necks are usually the least covered parts). The aging neck is increasingly recognised for its aesthetic importance. Cosmetic physicians can offer a number of surgical and non-surgical options for neck rejuvenation. Botox injections have revolutionised cosmetic surgery. The problems outlined above with necklines and bands can be corrected using Botulinum Toxin, which is injected into various points in the jawline and neck. BOTOX® effectively softens these lines and can help reduce some of the pull on the lower face by creating a slight lift. There are four categories of neck aging. Patients with categories II and III are most satisfied with BOTOX® neck rejuvenation. Category IV patients are usually surgical candidates. The whole procedure takes less than 30 minutes, is relatively painless and effects are usually visible within 7-10 days.

12 ) HYPERHIDROSIS: (Excessive Axillary sweating)

Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) is a very common condition, which has two main types. Focal hyperhidrosis is the more common type and involves excessive sweating on the feet, hands, armpits and occasionally, the face. Generalised hyperhidrosis is less common. Excessive sweating affects about 4% of the western population; it often interferes with the individual’s life by causing physiological problems, such as cold and clammy hands, dehydration, and skin infections secondary to maceration of the skin, as well as emotional consequences due to embarrassment, limiting daily activities, interfering with interpersonal relationships, necessitating frequent changes of clothes, etc. .Excessive sweating treatments by Botulinum Toxin can offer a life-changing solution for patients. By injecting low doses of BOTOX® into the underarm, for example, it can reduce the transition of impulses and thus sweating
